Peter Manten takes up head of sales gig at Spotify

Bauer Media’s former digital strategy and commercial director, Peter Manten, has filled the sales void at Spotify, taking on the role of head of sales.

Manten came to Australia in 2007, after 10 years with the UK’s ITV, and became network head of sales for digital media at Network Ten.

He then joined Bauer in 2015, and departed earlier this year. He commenced at Spotify this month.

Manten will lead sales at Spotify

Cassie Gilbert had been Spotify’s top sales person. She joined the streaming giant in 2012 as a sales manager, before climbing the ranks to group sales director in 2017. She replaced Andrea Ingham in the top job last year, however, departed in June.

Gilbert has since joined Pinterest as agency lead, while Ingham moved onto Buzzfeed as business partnerships lead.

There has been quite a shake-up at Spotify in recent months, with APAC’s head of automation and data, Dan Robins, being made redundant. In May, the company appointed Karen Lawson as managing director, filling the role left by Jane Huxley, who was promoted to a global role with the streaming service.

Spotify has been approached for comment about Manten’s appointment.
