Nikon appoints creative agency

Nikon

J. Walter Thompson (JWT) Sydney has won the strategic and creative work for photographic brand Nikon.

John Young, marketing manager, Nikon Australia noted that the agency’s virtual reality capabilities were a key part of their decision: “We believe we have found that with J. Walter Thompson Sydney, and we are excited to partner with them as we inspire our community and harness a new base of photographers through game-changing products and technologies”.

Jenny Willits, managing director at JWT said: “We’re delighted to welcome Nikon to our expanding client roster. They have an amazing array of upcoming launches which will clearly position the brand at the forefront of the next evolution in photography.”

“The solutions we create will need to be just as innovative if we are to cut through the indifferences in the category and stimulate the creative photography market. It’s a great challenge and we’re looking forward to solving it as Nikon’s creative agency partner.”

ANZ StadiumANZ Stadium appoints digital agency

Atomic 212 has been appointed as ANZ Stadium’s digital advertising agency after the sports stadium decided to discontinue doing its digital media inhouse.

Daniel Farrar, ANZ Stadium digital services and development manager, said the appointment would help the brand ahead of some of their key events of 2017.

“Atomic 212 were a stand-out for selection. Their understanding of the digital landscape is exactly what we needed to help with the exciting future ahead for ANZ Stadium and major events we promote like the Arsenal in Sydney tour in 2017,” said Farrar.

James Dixon, Atomic 212 co-founder and COO, said in a statement:“ANZ Stadium is such a national and international icon. As a fan of sports, working with them is a dream,” James said. “It is a great sign of ANZ Stadium’s commitment to digital marketing and fan engagement that they have decided to take their digital workings out of house for the first time.”

The appointment is effective immediately.

YatesYates Gardening appoints PR agency

Magnum & Co has won the PR account for major gardening brand Yates.

Yates Gardening senior brand manager Lauren Treloar said Yates was pleased with the agency’s creative approach to the brief ahead of a major product launch in its seeds business.

“Here at Yates, we are about to embark on a really great idea, which we passionately believe is going to generate a lot of goodwill and public support and not just amongst dedicated gardeners,” said Treloar.

“It’s also something the brand has never done before, which is why it was so important we partnered with the right agency. Magnum & Co impressed us with big creative ideas, sound strategy, rigorous attention-to-detail, content ideas and general process. It was head and shoulders above the rest.”

Magnum & Co’s managing director Michelle Hampton said the agency was excited about the win. “When Yates came to us with this brief, we were immediately excited by its potential to affect real, positive change across Australia – especially amongst children,” said Hampton. “And since winning the account, everyone we’ve broached the idea with is similarly enthusiastic – and it’s a real validation when that happens.

“While we can’t discuss exactly what that ‘big idea’ is just yet, we’re genuinely excited to be part of a great brand like Yates, making history in something which we believe is going to do a lot of good.”
