Rakuten Advertising appoints Dentsu’s Stuart McLennan as senior vice president, APAC

Stuart McLennan, who previously spent almost 10 years at Dentsu Aegis Network across Asia and the UK, has become senior vice president of APAC at Rakuten Advertising.

The role at the media, advertising technology and consumer insights company was meant to involve McLennan splitting his time between Sydney and Singapore, but due to travel restrictions associated with COVID-19, he will be based in Singapore for the foreseeable future.

As APAC senior vice president, McLennan will lead the business across the region, including Australia and New Zealand. As part of the international leadership team, he will report to Anthony Capano, managing director of international.

Most recently, McLennan spent 10 months as APAC media and performance lead at Dentsu Aegis Network, based in Singapore, as part of his almost-decade with the holding company. Almost nine years of that was with iProspect, where he started out as account director – SEO in 2010 and climbed the ranks to become regional head of commercials and operations for APAC.

McLellan said Rakuten Advertising is an extraordinary business.

Recently, Rakuten Advertising expanded and rebranded, involving bringing together its affiliate network, programmatic retargeting and prospecting technology.
