Ronan Keating joins cast of Seven’s upcoming All Together Now

Former Boyzone band member and judge on the now defunct The X Factor Australia, Ronan Keating, will head up the panel of 100 judges for Seven’s upcoming singing contest show All Together Now.

The show has already announced Julia Zemiro as host and will premiere on Seven soon.

All Together Now wants singing shows to be more ‘fun’

Seven also announced Rhonda Burchmore will join the judging panel – who will be housed in a six-storey high set piece.

The aim of the competition is simple, according to a statement from Seven.

“Each act is hoping to get as many of the Top 100 singing along as they can, because the more of the 100 who join in, the higher they score,” the release said.

“But since The 100 are a broad mix of ages, music backgrounds, interests and opinions, getting them all joining in is no easy task.”

The show will be a roller coaster of emotions, according to Keating’s statement.

“As any great captain would, I’ll be there to support, encourage, motivate, advise, laugh and cry along as The 100 see if they have what it takes to come out on top,” he said.

Keating told News Corp’s Confidential section that the current format of reality singing shows – which rely on “judges sitting there and speaking down to people” – needs to be rested, as audiences have tired of it.

“This show isn’t about a record deal and a career,” Keating told Confidential.

“It’s Saturday night at the pub singing in a corner with your mates.”

The winner will take home $100,000.
