Seven’s The Front Bar: Gold Coast edition rates just 354,000
Seven’s Commonwealth Games edition of sports chat show The Front Bar failed to make the top 20 programs in OzTam’s overnight preliminary ratings, pulling in 354,000 metro viewers for the episode.
The Front Bar: Gold Coast Edition stars Mick Molloy, Sam Pang and Andy Maher and will run once more on April 12. Nationally, last night’s audience was 527,000.
While traditionally Seven’s The Front Bar is an AFL show which runs in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, the Commonwealth Games edition is national. It aims to bring a light hearted approach to the 2018 Commonwealth Games as well as celebrate previous champions. Last night it ran at 8.30pm, against Ten’s Hughesy We Have a Problem at 8:40pm and Nine’s The Big Bang Theory.
Ten’s Hughesy We Have A Problem and Nine’s The Big Bang Theory averaged audiences of 514,000 and 695,000 respectively.
This week has seen Seven in a holding pattern until the launch of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games this evening.
Its most watched program was Seven News, with 1.072m metro viewers beating rival Nine News in the 6pm time slot. Nine News had a metro audience of 937,000.
The only other shows of Seven to appear in the top 20 were its longstanding programs Home and Away and The Chase Australia, with audiences of 657,000 and 615,000.
Seven’s The Front Bar: Gold Coast Edition, which against Ten’s Hughesy We Have A Problem did not make the top 20. But Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes’ show did appear, this time with 514,000 viewers.
Meanwhile, Ten’s Bachelor in Paradise has sustained its metro audience in the OzTam overnight preliminary ratings, this time comfortably ruling the key advertising demographics.
Those demographics, which are made up of the 16-39s, 18-49s, 25-54s, were led by Ten’s new reality show, which sees former contestants of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette live together on an island.
The biggest demographic was the 25-54s, with 432,000 viewers. The 18-49 demographic had 431,000 viewers and the 16-39s managed 310,000 across the metro cities.
Overall, the show pulled in 707,000 metro viewers. Although it led the demographics, it wasn’t enough to knock out Nine’s comedy lineup, with Young Sheldon attracting 896,000 metro viewers and The Big Bang Theory capturing 826,000.
Both shows dominated their time slots, making Nine the leader in entertainment for another night.
Yesterday, the multi channels were dominated by ABC’s Hey Duggee, with 179,000 viewers.
Ten’s performance wasn’t enough to knock out Nine and Seven in main channel share, with its total audience making up 14.7% of total audience. Seven’s share was 16.8% and Nine’s share ws 22.2%. ABC’s share sat at 12.3% for the evening and SBS’ share was 5.2%.
