Sky News rebrands main channel

Sky News has relaunched its main news channel as Sky News Live.

The release:

From today, channel 601 will re-launch as SKY NEWS LIVE, further cementing SKY NEWS as Australia’s only 24-hour multi-channel, multi-platform news broadcaster.

SKY NEWS LIVE (previously SKY NEWS National) will further expand its unrivalled LIVE rolling news, national affairs, business, sport, entertainment and weather coverage.

Renowned for its award winning Agenda series and popular evening current affairs programs, the channel will continue to be Australia’s leading destination for expert commentary, debate and analysis via SKY NEWS’ unrivalled line-up of  contributors, commentators and politicians.

New to SKY NEWS LIVE in 2015:

Derryn Hinch joins SKY NEWS to front Hinch LIVE, 9pm Saturday and Sunday nights from February 1st LIVE from Melbourne. Taking a look at what is making headlines; Derryn will delve into the news with his special guests and commentators. No topic will be off limit, no opinion spared.

Viewpoint with Chris Kenny moves to two nights a week airing Fridays and Sundays at 8pm. Chris gets into the story by putting forward the real views of the mainstream. Incisive, controversial and always up to the minute.

Peter Beattie joins SKY NEWS LIVE as a host and commentator.

Returning to SKY NEWS LIVE in 2015:

As Australia’s leading political news television broadcaster, the new year will see the return of the channel’s flagship political programs including; AM Agenda (8:30am weekdays), Lunchtime Agenda (1:30pm weekdays),PM Agenda (4pm Mon-Thurs),Saturday Agenda (8:30am &1:30pm) and Australian Agenda (8:30am & 1:30pm).

At 6pm, Reporting LIVE with Stan Grant gives viewers the news they need to know with a special focus on key international stories. In 2015 Stan will cover the big events LIVE and on the ground, bringing viewers even closer to the stories affecting Australians.

At 7pm, PVO NewsHour provides an edgier look at the day’s news and current affairs. In 2015 the program draws on SKY NEWS regulars Janine Perrett, Stan Grant, James Bracey and Paul Murray for what is set to be a nightly fiery debate on the issues that matter.

From 8pm on Mondays,The Dalley Edition (starting February 2). Helen Dalley is joined by the experienced big names in politics who help drive the national affairs debate.

On Tuesdays the return of Richo and Jones.  Television’s most dynamic duo, Alan Jones and Graham Richardson re-unite for another year of battle over the issues that are shaping Australia.

On Wednesday nights Graham Richardson flies solo with Richo, bringing his unique insights into a range of the day’s topics, not just politics.

On Thursday, SKY NEWS Political Editor David Speers returns with his leading panel of guests for The Nation, examining the big stories affecting us all.

From 9pm, Paul Murray LIVE. Now Monday to Friday, Paul is back to lead the fiery debate of the day’s news and current affairs with his special guests.

At 10pm SportsNightwith James Bracey. James and his panel take a look at the heroes and controversies facing the world of sports featuring the biggest sporting personalities
