Sky News shakes up line up with Peter Van Onselen moving to daytime show

Sky NewsSky News has announced it has shuffled its daytime and evening line-up, with Peter Van Onselen move to a daytime program and introducing a new evening world news show.

Van Onselen will now broadcast a new program PVO NewsDay which will broadcast Monday–Thursdays from 12:00pm – 4:00pm on Sky News with current host Ashley Gillan going on maternity leave. 

PVO NewsDay will also include a new lunchtime political program To the Point, which will feature former NSW Premier Kristina Keneally.

Van Onselen tweeted that he wanted to spend more time with his children and had asked for the timeslot change.

Screen Shot 2015-05-18 at 5.24.31 pmSky News also announced it is increasing its commitment to world news with the expansion of its Reporting Live with Stan Grant to a two-hour program, airing Monday – Thursdays from 6:00pm AEST.

Other timeslots and presenters remain unchanged.

The changes come as News Corp Australia seeks to buy the news channel from its owners Seven, Nine and BSkyB.
