Sportsbet already accepts bets on E-sports, which see teams of gamers take part in global competitions across a range of different games such as Halo, League of Legends, Call of Duty and FIFA for prize funds which can stretch into the millions, with a global fanbase estimated at 134 million.

The bookie claims Respawn will feature “the fastest ESL (Electric Sports League) stream in Oceania, live match statistics, odds and upcoming tournament information”. The will put it in competition with the likes of YouTube and Twitch, two of the biggest gaming streaming services.

It will feature tournaments for games including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, Dota 2, Heroes of the Storm and others. It will also give live odds on tournaments and allow people to place their bets from the platform.

According to the Sportsbet blog: “Simply put, it’s the god-mode of eSports betting.”
