The Studio at SCA launches first ever TV ad for OVO

Southern Cross Austereo’s in-house creative team, The Studio at SCA, has produced its first ever television commercial for broadband internet provider, OVO.

The 30 second commercial is set at a psychologists office where a father sits down to talk to a counselor about his home internet struggles and not being able to stream the football.

The psychologist then offers the father some advice, “take an OVO”.

Luke Parsons, head of The Studio, said in a statement: “Our position in market as Australia’s leading audio innovator is well known, but this work with OVO signals a turn to a more comprehensive multi-platform approach for SCA’s clients.

“We’re uniquely situated now as a publisher to not only provide unrivalled reach for clients but also produce creative completely in-house, from initial concept through to the final product, be that an audio or visual campaign.

“Our production capabilities exceed that of our competitors and now even rival some of Sydney’s more established creative and production houses.”

The ad aims to promote OVO as a broadband provider for family homes.

Melissa Jones, head of marketing at OVO, said the results from the campaign have already been “outstanding”.

“Over the December/January period we saw a 60% increase compared to average sales over same time last year for our Mobile for kids product – which exceeded the 25 to 30% we were expecting.

“We’re confident that the creative contributed significantly to those results.”
