Unmade Index feels the global wobble, beats ASX

The Unmade Index was feeling the global hangover today, but managed to get out of bed anyway, closing at just 0.3% down and significantly beating the S&P/ASX’s -1.36%.

Seven West Media rallied late to finish even, and ARN shook off some of its nasty week (it began on 54c, it’s now at 48c), gaining 2.15%.

Vinyl edged 1.15% higher, no doubt unrelated to the late-breaking news that it continues to save money by cutting roles. Pureprofile and Motion also gained (+6.12% and +1.92% respectively), but they do bounce around, so I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Among the >$100m decliners, News Corp dropped 2.14%, Enero lost 2.31%, Southern Cross Austereo eased 1.19% and Nine gave up 0.90%.

All-in-all, the Index came out of it pretty well, at 447.0 and just -0.3% down.
