VICE launches three new podcast series including The Anxiety Hour featuring Osher Günsberg

Youth publisher VICE has announced the launch of three new podcast series.

The first series to launch this year is Mahmood Fazal’s Violent Times, which delves into Australia’s complex relationship with violence.

VICE is launching three new podcast series this year

The first episode of Violent Times will explore the “hazardous world of graffiti”.

“When I heard that an 18 year graffiti artist had ruthlessly cut another passenger’s throat on a public tram in broad daylight, while citing the credentials of his graffiti crew, I looked into the scene.

“Melbourne is submerged in graffiti, and most people regard it as kitschy, but in recent years the art has transformed from being a way for the disenfranchised to express themselves to an archaic and ego-fuelled battleground over territory. For graffiti artists these days, brazen violence has become a certificate of authenticity,” Fazal said in a statement.

Violent Times will also feature Indigenous activist Vicki Roach.

Launching later in the year are two other series’: Extreme and The Anxiety Hour.

The Anxiety Hour will feature reality television host Osher Günsberg as VICE meets different people and explores mental health.

Extremes is a podcast series about people who have lived through a range intense experiences including a woman who survived a plane crash and spent eight days in a jungle.

Mumbrella’s Audioland conference on May 2 will explore the rich ecosystem of the audio industry including content creation, distribution, marketing, industry trends, new technology and more. Early bird tickets are available now.
