Cartoon Trump launches Sportsbet’s Trump Hub: ‘Which is a tremendous name by the way’

With the US election on the horizon, Sportsbet’s has continued to parody President Donald Trump, launching a specialised ‘Trump Hub’ for punters to bet on the election result and Trump’s unpredictable behaviour.

Trump Hub enables punters to bet on not just the election result, but what Trump might do next, such as adding his face to Mount Rushmore, dying his hair black, or tweeting Sky News host and News Corp columnist, Andrew Bolt.

The first hint of Sportsbet’s election activity came in August when the brand took advantage of the furore caused by Trump’s July Fox News interview, in which spoke about passing a cognitive test.

Trump repeated the words ‘Person, woman, man, camera, TV’ throughout the interview, and in a print ad Sportsbet added ‘phone, Sportsbet, Biden $1.53’.

The campaign now has extended to introduce a bright orange, animated Trump, praising the “tremendous name” that is ‘Trump Hub’.

Sportsbet’s creative director, Rambo Goraya, said: “While he’s not too keen on isolating, we felt a man of Trump’s interest deserves his own Hub on our app.” said.

“Needless to say, it’s yuuuuge, and we’re expecting the election to be up there with the Melbourne Cup as our biggest event of 2020.”

The first of three TVCs went live over the weekend during the AFL and NRL finals. The campaign will extend across TV, radio, print, digital and social, and a bespoke Snapchat lens has been created that will put users on the personalised presidential podium.

The TVCs were developed in-house and animated by CUB Studio in the UK.
