Woolworths celebrates going home for Christmas

The drama, excitement and logistics of an extended family heading home for Christmas is the focus of this year’s Woolworths campaign. .

The television ad, which was created by its ad agency of record M&C Saatchi, features the generations making the trip home while brining a plate of iconic Australian Christmas food to the big family lunch.

Backed to ‘Run Rudolph Run’, the ad promotes Woolworths’ Christmas products including pavlovas, cherries, puddings and ham.

Andrew Hicks, director of marketing at Woolworths, said the ad is centred around the idea that everyone wants to be with their loved ones on Christmas Day and gather around a table of food.

“Everyone wants to do their bit – whether it’s setting up the decorations, hosting, bringing a pav, making a pudding or perfecting the ham, it’s these little acts that make up a great Christmas feeling.

“As the Fresh Food People, we understand the role food plays in bringing the festivities to life and whether you’re making it together or making it to share, we always want to make it as easy and sensational for our customers.

“We have also taken it up a notch this year with our Christmas execution in stores right across the country – customers can expect lots of in-store theatre to help bring the Christmas spirit to life.”

The campaign is running across TV, radio, digital in-store and outdoor.

Last year, Woolworths encouraged Australians to embrace the spirit of Christmas by sharing.
