James Carter
Having working in media and Advertising for the past 12 years I have a wealth of experience in creating brands and producing functional, creative and cost effective websites.
I produce simple effective on and off line solutions for all your communication challenges. I combine creative brilliance, strategic solutions, a wealth of experience and an in depth knowledge of best tools and practices to provide solutions that fit your business, budget and schedule.
I studied graphic and multi media design at Liverpool (UK) University, while also working as a web designer for a small local firm (merseysite.co.uk), providing end to end web solutions for small to medium local businesses.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Design (Honours) I moved to London and worked as freelance designer for a real mix of industries. From theatre companies (Unicorn Theatre) to banks (Lloyds TSB).
In 2002 I moved to Australia in search of sun, sand, work and a little fun.
Soon after arriving here I scored a Digital Art Director role with Gillespie Advertising. Working closely with the Creative Director, Rod Gillespie, I cut my teeth in advertising. During the five years with Gillespies, I helped develop the online side of the advertising business, working on some campaigns for major players including Westpac, ING, BT Financial, Aurora Funds Management, SG, Ausmaq, The Teachers Federation NSW, L’Oreal’s Biotherm, InvestSmart, Global Red, Holden, Retire Invest.
It was time for a change and I moved into media and helped Macquarie Radio Network (MRN) launch and overhaul a variety of online ventures, including:

I also created advertising campaigns and sales tools for MRN and their advertisers.
After two years, and having achieved all of MRN’s goals, I wanted to spread my creative wings and go out on my own. Cartercarter Pty Ltd was born with MRN as my first client.
