Angela Allan

I’m a freelance music & entertainment writer for Rolling Stone magazine, FHM (formerly) and Australian Penthouse, since 2008.

For the past six years, I have held the position as a part-time journalist with Fairfax Media title The Weekly, where I write copy for arts/entertainment/ music, motoring, travel, home and garden, fashion, beauty, food, motoring, news, health and real estate.

As a freelancer (since 2006), I write contract proposals, sales documents, media releases, band biographies, blogs and website content for a range of businesses, from jewellery to aquariums.

I also write real estate property copy for various agents for use on the internet and signboards.

My experience summary includes:

-Highly experienced in written and verbal communication, including writing compelling feature articles, blogs, cover stories, instructional manuals, contract proposals, sales documents, website content, press releases, creative commercial pieces and advertising copy and conducting interviews.
-An extensive knowledge of copywriting for businesses, including the music industry, beauty and health, hospitality, automotive, real estate and property, IT and digital media and wildlife fields.
-Experienced in working in fast-paced newspaper and music industry environments to produce quality articles to tight deadlines.
-Experienced in maintaining and building professional business relationships.
-Experienced in layout and formatting the programs for the Miss Universe Australia Official Crowning Ceremony 2011 and producing small-budget music documentaries.
-Publishing assistant in a small press business, which involved editing and marketing.
-Interviewed authors at The Age Melbourne Writers’ Festival in front of a live audience.
– Edit, re-write and proofread supplied copy and my own work, and self-edit.
