Why Creative Strategy?

The answer to this question quite simple. I believe that effective creative thinking and execution should start with a considered strategy. Even great instinctive ideas benefit from a strategic platform, if only to know what rules can be broken.

I have been an advertising creative for most of my adult life. Although I originally studied
graphic design, my creative curiosity combined with the organic osmosis of my opportunities and real life has left me as much a writer and strategist, as the art director I originally set out to become.

My instinctive and culturally inquiring approach has evolved over years of creating through the line campaigns for some of the worlds largest brands. Working in 360 agencies I’ve also acquired an appreciation of the power of aggregated data and how it enables targeted and authentic story telling across all channels from print to social network.

I believe in innovative solutions and thinking outside of the brief. I feel that the divide between digital native and traditional creative is bridged by big ideas and collaborative team work. And I believe in the balance of ideas that work as well as entertain.

I have experienced working in the USA, Asia and Australia for international networks
and boutique agencies. And I also possesses the professional realities of having run my own
consulting business.
