Sub-editing and proofreading course – Sydney

Taught by a former Sydney Morning Herald editor, this practical course covers:
– tightening sentences
– writing in the active voice
– using positive phrasing
– writing strong intros
– connecting paragraphs
– making sure the lead isn’t buried
– restructuring articles
– grammar and punctuation tips
– maintaining consistency
– fact checking
– proofreading mark-up symbols
– writing strong headlines for both print and online.

Only nine places are available to ensure every participant receives personalised attention.

Editing exercises are included throughout the class so you can immediately practise what you’ve learnt.

Handbooks and certificates will be handed out to each participant.
