2019 Inform News Media Summit adds Paul Fletcher to line-up
News Media Works’ 2019 Inform News Media Summit has added Minister for Communications, Paul Fletcher, to its line-up for the September 24 event.

MINISTER FOR COMMUNICATIONS, HON. PAUL FLETCHER TO HEADLINE 2019 INFORM NEWS MEDIA SUMMIT
The Hon. Paul Fletcher MP, Minister for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts, will address this year’s INFORM 19 News Media Summit, to be held on September 24 in Sydney.
Mr Fletcher completes the speaker line-up for this year’s event, which also includes international keynote speaker Professor Scott Galloway, from the NYU Stern School of Business and co-host of the popular podcast Pivot, live from New York.
Galloway will present a no mercy, no malice perspective on the biggest trends, challenges and innovations impacting organisations today. He will then join Mark Ritson, Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Melbourne Business School, in conversation with event MC Ticky Fullerton, Business Editor, Sky News.
Additional keynotes will be presented by Mark Ryan, Director of the Judith Nielson Institute, discussing why journalism is more important than ever; Damian Eales, President of the International News Media Association (INMA) and COO of New Corp; and Ritson on lessons in advertising effectiveness.

This year’s summit will take a deep dive into the challenges and opportunities for news media across editorial and digital platforms, as well as industry transformation and the issues facing marketers more broadly in the new media environment. A strategy panel, moderated by Paul McIntyre from Mi-3, will feature Adam Ferrier, Founder of Thinkerbell and Caitlin Lloyd discussing modern approaches to marketing.
An editorial panel discussing the changing face of the modern newsroom, moderated by Ticky Fullerton, features Lenore Taylor, Editor of The Guardian; Anthony de Ceglie, Senior Editor of The West Australian; Kate de Brito, Editor-in-Chief of News.com.au and James Chessell, Group Executive Editor at Nine.
A panel of digital leaders, moderated by Tim Burrowes from Mumbrella, will debate news media partnerships and includes Julian Delaney, Managing Director of News DNA; Lizzie Young, Partnership Director of Nine Entertainment Co; Andrew Hunter, News Partnerships Lead ANZ for Facebook and Kate Beddoe, Head of News & Publishing Partnerships APAC at Google.
The importance of marketing metrics will be debated on the metrics panel moderated by The Readership Works General Manager, Mal Dale, and featuring Matthew Daniell, Marketing Effectiveness Lead at IAG; Allison Tilling, Chief Strategy Officer at VMLY&R and Nathan Hodges, Managing Director of Trinity P3.
The News Media Awards, hosted by The Chaser’s Craig Reucassel and Andrew Hansen, will be presented that evening, following the conclusion of INFORM 19. Both events will be held at The Ivy Ballroom in Sydney.
