Dear 60 Mins
I would just like to inform you, the public & Phoebe Handsjuk’s family about being a survivor of numerous suicide attempts, I would just like you to know that when your in extreme emotional pain & distress, your determination to want to kill yourself, is so intense that you really are capable of pretty much anything to achieve that.
I dont doubt for a second that Phoebe put herself into that cavity by herself, if she was in full on panic mode & felt that she could not escape that traumatic relationship, then her desire to want to kill herself would have been so high that she would have done pretty much anything to do that.
She would have had so much determination to kill herself that she would of twisted & turned frantically to fit in that space, trust me I have been in a similar situation & when you dont want to live you will do anything to kill yourself.
I think that if someone was going to put her in that chute at that time of night, being peak hour in a public place & the risk of them getting caught, would have been extremely high, it would be an absurd thing to do. A dead body apparently weighs an awful lot even if she was skinny, & it would have been very awkward to do it in a few seconds without being caught.
Im quite annoyed that you didnt show how long it would have taken ( and how hard it would have been) for a man of similar stature to her partner, to pickup a (pretend dead person) & manipulate a that same weight & body shape as Phoebe’s into the chute, you showed a living person struggle to do it & yes it was a struggle but im pretty sure a living person would have put themselves into that chute quicker than another person trying to stuff a dead person into that chute.
I truly believe that Phoebe did do that to herself because the human brain is capable of amazing things when they are determined to do want to kill themselves, I know its not what you want to believe or the family want to believe but being a survivor of a very traumatic relationships, I can honestly tell you that I would have done the same thing if that was the only way to kill myself.
I have tried numerous times to escape deep seated pain, its an overwhelming panic that takes over rational thinking, its like being a kamikaze on auto pilot, you just dont think, you just do it.
Thankyou for reading this, I hope you can see & acknowledge what I know about suicide attempts, how destructive they are & when your pushed to the limit, how easily it is to lose total control of your mind in a split second.
cheers xxxx
