72 and Sunny develops a digital gingerbread house generator for Google Nest

72 and Sunny has partnered with production agencies Finch and Nakatomi to create a digital gingerbread house generator for Google Nest.

The Google Nest My Gingerbread Creator enables a user to build and design their dream gingerbread house, and the program will then provide instructions as to how to build it in real life.

The program is voice activated, triggered by the command ‘Hey Google, talk to My Gingerbread Creator’. The user is then prompted with several questions about the features and style of the house and at the end the generator will tell them what ingredients they need to buy.

The program is based on data that Google searches for gingerbread house recipes having the largest year-on-year growth in December.

A campaign that will cover TV, digital, outdoor and social shows the creator in action.

Masterchef winner and TV presenter, Adam Liaw, will appear in a video series for the My Gingerbread Creator in partnership with Nine. The films will appear on social media and online.

Tara Mckenty, creative director at Google Brand Studio APAC, said in a statement: “When technology, creativity, and production are in the same room, figuring out the same problem together, magic happens. Innovative solutions are brought to life in ways that surprise and delight our audience, and My Gingerbread Creator is no exception to that.”

Emad Tahtouh, Nakatomi co-founder, said: “I love that My Gingerbread Creator helps facilitate a stronger personal relationship between children and parents by harnessing the magic of technology and visual storytelling. This project pushed the boundaries of both technical and product from every angle. We’re extremely proud of the outcome and the experience of working alongside Google and the entire Finch team.”

Ross Berthinussen, 72 and Sunny executive strategy director, added: “We loved working collaboratively with Google to create a new product experience. We wanted to make something fun that families could enjoy together this Christmas.”
