777,000 metro viewers tune in to watch magician Paul Cosentino enter the jungle on I’m A Celebrity

Ten’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here has added another celebrity to its lineup, with 777,000 metro viewers tuning in to watch magician Paul Cosentino enter the jungle.

1.073m national viewers tuned in to the episode and it topped all three of the key advertising demographics – 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s.

The program premiered a week ago with 980,000 metro viewers tuning in. The show launched earlier than it has on other seasons, with Ten looking to challenge the summer cricket coverage on Seven and tennis on Nine.

Seven’s BBL coverage on Sunday night brought 512,000 in for the first session of the Sydney Sixers vs the Melbourne Stars and 508,000 for session two. 235,000 tuned in for Nine’s ATP Cup night coverage and 96,000 for the coverage on Gem. Gem was the most popular multi-channel with a 9.0% audience share.

But the most-watched program of Sunday overall was Seven News which brought in 943,000 metro viewers while Nine News delivered 841,000 and ABC News 584,000. Ten’s The Sunday Project at 7pm delivered 501,000.

Seven also won the night overall with a network audience share of 27.4% and a channel share of 19.4%. Nine held a network share of 26.8%, Ten had 22.1%, ABC 14.5% and SBS 9.1%. In the channel shares, Ten jumped ahead of Nine with 15.7% to Nine’s 12.2%. ABC held 9.6% and SBS 6.3%
