AFL player Marcus Bontempelli has joined the sport team at 7News Melbourne.

Australia’s #1 news service today announced that Western Bulldogs skipper Marcus Bontempelli will join 7NEWS Melbourne’s sport team for the remainder of the 2025 AFL Finals Series.
The premiership player and seven-time All Australian will deliver opinions and analysis on what’s shaping as an enthralling Grand Final – with the Premiership Cup there for the taking.
Bontempelli will also feature in Seven’s AFL Grand Final coverage on Saturday, 27 September, live, free and exclusively on Seven and 7plus Sport.
Marcus Bontempelli said: “I’d love to be out there – but it’s not to be this year. The next best is joining the broadcast team for the biggest day of the year.”
7NEWS Melbourne’s director of news, Chris Salter, said: “It’s a huge coup for footy fans. There’s not much Marcus hasn’t done in football. He knows the game inside out and knows what it takes to win a premiership. Viewers will appreciate his insights.”
Bontempelli will make his debut on 7NEWS Melbourne next week.
