800 Words and X Factor hold strong for Seven

800-Words-234x133Australian drama series 800 Words has continued to deliver Seven winning audience numbers, with the show grabbing 1.170m metro viewers for its third episode airing from 8.40pm last night.

It was slightly down on last week’s audience of 1.192m but was still the most-watched show of the evening and was the most-watched show amongst the 18-49 and 25-54 demographics.

It proved to be yet another winning night for Seven, with its news program delivering a 6pm audience of 1.110m, dipping to 1.093m at 6.30pm and The X Factor also breaking the million mark at 7.30pm.

The first live results show for the X Factor this year saw 1.083m metro viewers tune in, easily out-rating its reality competitors The Block and The Biggest Loser.

Seven comfortably won the night with the four most-watched shows with an audience share of 24.1 per cent, ahead of Nine’s share of 18.3 per cent. The ABC claimed third place with a share of 13.6 per cent while Ten settled for a share of 13.1 per cent.

Nine’s The Block, which was the most-watched show amongst 16-39 year olds, grabbed 855,000 metro viewers, easily beating Ten’s The Biggest Loser which was watched by 570,000 metro viewers, up from last week’s audience of 530,000.

Nine’s David Attenborough’s Life Story, airing from 8.45pm, was watched by 551,000 while Ten’s NCIS, airing from 8.30pm, grabbed 393,000 metro viewers.

In the breakfast battleground, Seven’s Sunrise pulled in 309,000 metro viewers while Nine’s Today Show was watched by 291,000 on the second day of its national tour.
