889,000 for Adam Hills chat show debut on ABC1

ABC1’s new Wednesday night entertainment lineup failed to break a million viewers last night.

Chat show Adam Hills in Gordon St Tonight averaged 889,000 while morbid sexcom Laid rated 608,000, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam.  

Meanwhile, the series return of The Farmer Wants A Wife delivered 891,000 for Nine.

Seven continued its strong start to the ratings year with My Kitchen Rules top show for the night with an audience of 1.399m.

The 6pm news battle was a two horse race between Seven News (1.162m) and Nine News (1.039m) with Ten’s 6PM With George Negus rating a fractionally improved 389,000.

In individual demographics, Negus chalked up his first, small, victory. In the 16-39 demographic he beat both Nine News and Seven News in Brisbane.
