ABC’s Hard Quiz beats Travel Guides, Big Brother, MasterChef

The ABC aired the top-rating non-news program of Wednesday night, with game show Hard Quiz watched by 663,000 metro viewers.

The Tom Gleeson-hosted show continued its strong performances of late, just beating Nine’s Travel Guides on 644,000 metro viewers, as well as tentpole offerings from other networks like Big Brother (556,000 metro viewers) and MasterChef Australia (535,000 metro viewers).

Looking at the key advertising demos, Big Brother took out People 16-39 and People 18-49, while Nine News was #1 among People 25-54.

Nine News aired to 977,000 metro viewers and was the equal #1 program of the night, a title shared with Seven News, also on 977,000 metro viewers.

Seven News At 6.30 brought in 975,000 metro viewers and Nine News took 919,000 metro viewers, while 695,000 metro viewers tuned into A Current Affair.

The battle between the networks was won by Nine, which managed a 27.1% network share, just pipping Seven on 26.7%. Ten had 19.8% and the ABC had 17.2%.

10 Bold the #1 multi-channel of Wednesday with a 4.1% share.
