The most stable weekly

The weekly magazines market looks set to shrink even further – as none of the 13 audited weeklies enjoyed a sales uplift in the latest round of figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

None of the ABC-audited titles saw a rise for the period from October to December with Pacific Magazine’s Famous the most stable with a drop of just 2.9 per cent compared to the same period the previous year.

Bauer Media’s Grazia – which has Bauer CEO Matt Stanton has announced this morning will close – saw the biggest fall with a 24 per cent drop in circulation.

The women’s mag has dipped to selling 40,893 from 43,873 in the last audit period. Also taking a major hit was Bauer’s lads mag Zoo Weekly, down 18.1 per cent on the same period last year.

There will be a full breakdown and analysis of the ABC figures in Encore later today.
