Abe’s Audio introduces ethical AI voiceovers

Audio production company Abe’s Audio has introduced humen-centred, AI-created voiceovers, in a media and marketing industry first.

‘Ethical AI Voiceovers’ is a new offering from the business, aimed to help reduce costs for Aussie media, advertising agencies, video content creators, and eLearning providers. It is also said to protect voice talent, and ensure they are paid for the use of their voices.

For suitable projects, users will get the speed and cost savings of AI, with the option to have full creative control by booking human talent. Some projects – those that require creative direction, specific input or syncing to vision and those that include multi brand names, locations or difficult pronunciations – will not be suitable.

“We’ve worked with some of our most popular voiceover artists to create digital clones of their voices,” said Abe Udy, founder of Abe’s Audio.

“This means that written scripts can be tuned into professional voiceovers and audio content using quality, Australian voices,” he said. “We’ve combined the power of AI with the authenticity of real people.”

The audio company has spent time with voice talent to record and edit hours or content, creating private digital voice clones. It has implemented strict guidelines to ensure the talent is protected and properly compensated for the use of their voice.

“The thing we are most passionate about is ensuring that these talented voiceover artists are protected, treated fairly and paid for their work,” Udy continued.

“AI is a disruptive force within our industry – and there are still many unknowns – but it is possible to both work more cost-effectively and behave ethically.”
