ACP Custom Media launches Myer iPad app

ACP Custom Media has created an iPad app for fashion and lifestyle store Myer’s magazine brand  – Myer Emporium.

The announcement:

MYER today announces the launch of a tablet PC version of its premium magazine brand, MYER emporium.

It is Australia’s first custom-published interactive magazine app for the iPad, created for MYER by ACP Custom Media.

Available free of charge from the iTunes Australia Store on 1st November, the MYER emporium app is an interactive version of the retail giant’s premium fashion and lifestyle customer magazine.

The summer edition’s fashion, beauty and home wares features – which remain available in print for MYER One members – have been recreated for the interactive touch-screen capabilities of Apple’s groundbreaking tablet.

Adam Stapleton, MYER’s General Manager, Marketing, said: “The Apple iPad is the perfect device for showcasing our excellent emporium magazine in an interactive and tactile format. The iPad has been selling well in MYER since its launch in May. Our customers have been blown away by the form and functionality and we expect tablet sales to continue to grow through the summer. MYER is proud to be the first Australian retailer to provide its customers with a magazine iPad app.”

Gerry Reynolds, ACP’s Deputy Group Publishing Director, said: “ACP has always invested in innovative new media formats. Our editorial teams create international-standard content which lends itself perfectly to this new form of delivery. Already, we have launched apps for our newsstand magazines The Australian Women’s Weekly, Shop Til You Drop, Australian Gourmet Traveller and computing magazine APC.

“MYER has shown foresight and initiative in choosing the Apple iPad to showcase emporium – the beautifully created fashion, beauty and home content suits the format perfectly. The iPad version of emporium offers a new and innovative experience for readers and, from the next issue, advertisers.”

Release of the MYER emporium iPad app follows MYER’s iPhone application, which has proved very popular, with more than 30,000 downloads.
