Ad Wrap: ANZ’s latest for Apple Pay; A panda sells AGL power and a meerkat drinks coffee

In its latest ad promoting its Apple Pay technology ANZ features two women splitting a restaurant bill ten ways. The exasperated waiter looks on as the customers are delighted by repeatedly tapping their phones to the EFTPOS machine in lieu of a card in the latest spot in the series from Whybin\TBWA Melbourne.

Origin is encouraging consumers to switch energy suppliers by offering one month free of each electricity and natural gas for new customers. The TV spot ‘Everyone loves a freebie’ features a woman finding a $20 note in a pocket while doing her laundry and a man cracking an egg to find it contains two yolks. Its agency of record is Clemenger BBDO Melbourne.

KFC is promoting a ‘refreshing change’ in their new Grilled Twister Fresh Range, with an ad depicting a landscaper proudly arriving at work in glitter-covered boots, courtesy of his young daughter. Ogilvy is KFC’s creative agency.

A talking panda spruiks AGL’s history in the latest offering from the power company. The ad by McCann Melbourne highlights how it is “powering the things you love” and underlining its sponsorship of the panda enclosure at Adelaide zoo. The panda is caught munching on bamboo loudly, with subtitles translating the panda’s speech for viewers.

The hapless Sergei is the butt of another joke in the latest instalment of the meerkat saga for Compare the Market. The spot from VCCP shows Sergei downing a cup of coffee as someone explains how health insurance prices are set to rise, before it is revealed he has already downed dozens as he fights to stay awake.
