Adam Long joins Humantix as chief growth officer

Not-for-profit Humantix has brought entrepreneur and former general manager of Step Change, Adam Long, on board as its chief growth officer.

The announcement:

Adam Long, (founder of Conscious Step socks, former CEO of Smarter Drafter and ex-partner at Step Change), has joined the team at Humanitix as their Chief Growth Officer.

The appointment comes after substantial growth at Humanitix, the not-for-profit ticketing platform that gives events impact. It makes event management a delight and directs 100% of the profits from booking fees toward education projects, such as literacy programs for young girls.

Josh Ross, Humanitix Co-CEO, said: “After more than doubling the ticket sales through our platform in the last 4 months, we’re getting ready for global expansion. Adam has joined the team to lead the transition from startup to scaleup.”

Adam is known as ‘The Ethical CEO’, a moniker he earned as a social enterprise founder and advisor. Adam’s best-known business is Conscious Step: Socks For Causes That Matter, which raises funds for charity through the sale of ultra-stylish socks in stores around the world, including David Jones. The socks are worn by Matt Damon and Prof Klaus Schwab, the Chairman of the World Economic Forum. The socks fund twelve charities in all, including the UN Aids Program, Oxfam, water.org, and Room To Read, a charity that is also funded by Humanitix. Adam was formerly the General Manager at Step Change, a strategic creative agency.

Adam left there to become the CEO of Smarter Drafter, a company creating AI software for lawyers, famous for their Alexa lawyer.

Says Adam Long: “Joining Humanitix is a natural fit. Humanitix is a charity that’s run like a Silicon Valley startup – a commercially-minded organisation with an extraordinary social impact. It’s a charity for the tech generation.

“But being a charity isn’t enough, it’s got to be better than commercial businesses. Humanitix has used funding from Google and Atlassian to build the most advanced ticketing platform. It’s why event organisers are flocking to Humanitix – Parliament House, UN Women, The Grounds, Football Federation of Australia and thousands of others.”

“By ticketing their event with Humanitix, Singularity University funded 10,000 days of education, the Football Federation of Australia funded 2 years of girls’ education from tickets to a single match, and The Grounds of Alexandria funded 15,000 meals for disadvantaged Aussie kids.”
