AFL and The Chase helps Seven win Thursday night
AFL helped Seven to a comfortable win on Thursday night.
Seven’s airing of the Richmond v Sydney game provided 576,000 metro viewers to the network, with 347,000 viewers coming from Melbourne. The game aired on Seven’s main channel in Melbourne and Adelaide and on 7Mate in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.
The channel’s game show The Chase provided 621,000 metro viewers, which contributed to a 21.8% main channel share for the evening.

Seven News was the overall most-watched program of the night, with 1.012m metro viewers.
Nine Newsachieved 891,000 metro viewers, while A Current Affair provided 716,000 viewers in its 7pm time slot.
Hot Seat was the channel’s most-watched entertainment program of the night, with 535,000 tuning in during the earlier 5pm time slot.
Ten’s most watched show of the night was the 7:30pm showing of Masterchef Australia, with 786,000 metro viewers. The program came top in key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.
The most-watched ABC show of the night was its news show, with 604,000 metro viewers. Grand Designs pulled in 464,000 viewers.
Seven Network won the night with a total network share of 33.4%, while Nine won 25.2% of the audience. Ten received a 19.4% of the audience, ABC 13.5% and SBS 8.5%.
