AFL outrates Wallabies England battle
The battle between the Wallabies and England on Ten saw nearly half a million metropolitan views tunes in to the clash, but it wasn’t enough for Ten to win the night as the game drew 439,000 viewers, while Seven’s telecast of the AFLtook the honours.
The test drew an audience of 439,000 while Seven’s telecast of the match between Geelong and North Melbourne drew 451,000.
However the ABC won the night with the best non-news show, drawing 661,000 for Father Brown at 7.30pm.
Other shows making the top 10 included Getaway on Nine at 5.30pm with 441,000 and Border Security on Seven also at 5.30pm.
Seven News at 6pm was the top rating show of the night with 870,000, ahead of Nine News with 781,00 and the ABC News at 7pm with 708,000.
Friday night sawSeven’s Better Homes & Gardens the most watched general entertainment show with 744,000 ahead of The Chase Australia 598,000 and Ten’s The Living Room with 571,000.
Seven’s News was the highest rating show with 955,000, beating Nine News with 919,000 and Seven News/Today Tonight with 916,000.
Nine’s Friday Night NRL Live pulled 407,000 while Sevens AFL match drew 392,000.
Worth remembering that regular followers of rugby union are likely to have watched the Test match on Fox Sports which has fewer ads in play (foxtel has exclusive rights to the provincial super rugby tournament)
