Agency bosses Howcroft, Steedman, Johns, Pejic, Greet and Jones to debate agency talent drought at Mumbrella360
Bosses from Australia’s media, creative and PR agencies are to discuss the challenges they face in finding and keeping the best talent at the Mumbrella360 conference in June.
In a session curated by Group M and moderated by the organisation’s chairman John Steedman, the panellists will discuss how Australian agencies can win the talent battle with potentially more glamorous technology and media companies.
Representing media agencies, the panellists are Dan Johns, CEO of Ikon Communications, Mark Pejic, CEO of Mediacom and James Greet, CEO of Mindshare.
Christine Jones, the newly arrived CEO of Burson-Marsteller, will represent the PR side of the debate.
And Russel Howcroft, CEO of Y&R Brands, will represent adland’s point of view.
This year’s Mumbrella360 takes place on June 6 and 7 at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney. Details of sessions announced – and discounted earlybird tickets – are available on the Mumbrella360 website.
Looks like a WPP-fest..! How about some perspective from someone not owned by a multinational group?

Hi KK,
We invited the industry to propose curated sessions. As we mentioned in the piece, this session is curated by Group M, which is a WPP organisation. So I’m not in the least bit surprised to see that they would put forward senior people from within the company. I’m delighted to ahve them involved in the conference.
Mind you, there are plenty of sessions from independents too.
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
I am with KK. Would be good to have curated sessions represent different interests, rather than those of the curator. Otherwise its just an ad for WPP and their policies….

One small fact that everyone overlooked. At last count the indpendent media agency known as IKON is not part of WPP in any way shape or form.
It may be one voice in 6, but it is still a voice.

Hi JDB,
In fairness I should point out that Ikon is backed by STW, of which WPP is a shareholder.
Cheers,
