In his new role, Mr Giramondo will manage Nationwide News’ advertising sales team responsible for both display and classified ad revenues across both titles plus thetelegraph.com.au.

Mr Giramondo will take up the position on 23 May, reporting to Nationwide News’ managing director Michael Miller.

“Agostino joins us at an exciting time as we develop new growth opportunities in paper, across digital and through the development of new products,” Mr Miller said.

“Working with our sales partners in Newsnet, NewsAdvantage and News Digital Media will give Agostino a great opportunity to capitalise on News Limited’s network of media properties to provide industry leading solutions to advertisers.

“Agostino brings leadership and media experience across all our assets, and it is especially pleasing to appoint such a high-calibre individual from within the ranks of the company.”

Currently deputy advertising director at the Herald Sun in Melbourne, Mr Giramondo brings to the role over 17 years experience in newspaper and multimedia industry sales. Mr Giramondo joined the Herald Sun in March 2002 and has held a number of senior roles including classified advertising manager, automotive sales manager and real estate sales manager.

Mr Giramondo said: “I have enjoyed my nine years at HWT immensely, learnt a lot and had the opportunity to work as part of a great team with an outstanding culture. This is a fantastic chance to further my career in the Sydney market, building on the strong commercial relationships and foundation I have established in Melbourne.

“Both The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph have an unrivalled reputation as Sydney’s leading media outlets, and it is a great opportunity to be able to contribute to that success.“

HWT’s advertising sales director Fiona Mellor said: “I have worked very closely with Agostino over the past decade and applaud his great talent with advertisers and staff.

“His time as my deputy, while brief, was highly valuable and I now look forward to working with him very closely as a colleague in Sydney.”
