AICD appoints Havas Media after a four-way agency pitch

The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) has appointed a new media agency partner, naming Havas Media as the winner of its account following a four-way agency pitch.

Havas will now lead media strategy and planning for the AICD brand and performance campaigns.

The AICD took media buying in-house after mutually parting ways with its former media agency partner, IPG-owned, Initiative, midway through 2020.

AICD head of marketing, Derek Craig, said the institute wanted a partner who understood how to engage with a highly accomplished audience.

“As the leader of education for senior leaders within Australia there is significant growth opportunity in the online education,” he said.  “This has been accelerated by COVID. We needed a partner who understood how to engage with the most successful audiences and help them to understand how we can enhance their knowledge and career path development.”

Virginia Hyland, who was appointed CEO of Havas Media in November 2020, said the AICD is an “exceptional” business.

“We are honoured to be working with AICD, an exceptional business that supports and guides the most respected and senior leaders within Australia.

“They are very modern in their thinking around how to engage and educate the future leaders of our country,” she said.

“We are excited to work alongside the AICD team to unlock growth opportunities for their business and by working closely together we have the ability to join content and media to develop campaigns, which drive greater success.

She went on to praise the equity that Havas Media has built over the years “…as a most trusted agency partner that can design and deliver experiences that most inspire meaningful connections for our clients.

“We love working with clients who want to challenge the market and think about how to best impact every point of the purchase journey – media, creative, content and e-commerce.”
