Pedestrian Group has revealed former PEDESTRIAN.TV deputy editor Alex Bruce-Smith will rejoin the publication as its new head of editorial.

Bruce-Smith is set to bring over a decade’s worth of digital media experience to the position, including her time as digital managing editor of Marie Claire Australia and Elle. The media expert’s new position will focus on evolving PEDESTRIAN.TV’s audience growth and editorial strategy.

Pedestrian Group publisher, Sarah Michael, shared her excitement at having Bruce-Smith rejoin the youth publication’s family.

“Alex has the unique set of skills and experience we are looking for to take PEDESTRIAN.TV to the next level, and to evolve the brand as the media consumption habits of Gen Z continue to shift,”Michael said.

“Her strong digital newsroom experience, knack for a spicy headline, and strategic thinking make her the perfect person for the gig and I’m thrilled for her to return to the team in this role.”

Bruce-Smith said: “Nobody speaks to young Australians like Pedestrian — and I can say that from experience. I’m thrilled to be returning to the brand, transforming how it speaks to (and more importantly, with) Gen Z in the ever-shifting digital media landscape.”

Bruce-Smith’s role will commence in early November 2023.
