Allianz Australia’s GM of communications Julie Delvecchio joins Ausgrid
Allianz Australia’s general manager of communications, Julie Delvecchio, has departed the insurer to join Ausgrid as its head of corporate affairs.
During her two year stint at Allianz, Delvecchio was responsible for the company’s media, public affairs, corporate communications and social media.

Throughout her career Delvecchio has also held positions at Transport for NSW, AGL Energy, City of Sydney and the NSW Ambulance Service.
In a statement to Mumbrella, Delvecchio said: “I’ve spent many years working with communities and earning public support so the Ausgrid role is such great opportunity to continue doing this, especially with one of the best corporate affairs team around.
“The energy sector is changing so rapidly and there are so many opportunities to give customers more choice and control over their energy use. There are many real and important challenges, like listening more to communities and translating what we hear into services we deliver.
“Communicating what we are doing clearly is critical and I want to be part of shifting perceptions on the role of networks, especially with growth in renewables and EVs just around the corner.”
Delvecchio’s appointment at the electricity distribution company, Ausgrid, comes three months after Amanda Lampe departed as its head of corporate affairs.
Lampe was a contractor at Ausgrid for just over a year and departed the company in June.
Allianz Australia has been approached for comment.
