Alt/Shift becomes latest PR agency to appoint creative director, Julia Spencer
Public relations agency Alt/Shift is the latest PR agency to appoint a designated creative director, hiring Julia Spencer to fill the newly created role.
Before joining Alt/Shift, Spencer was freelancing as a creative director for one year after leaving DDB Group Australia as copywriter.
“I’m chuffed to be getting on board with an agency with so many fantastic clients; a real grip on the changing climate of our industry; and an understanding of the importance of creativity. Adding an extra creative lens to Alt/Shift’s offering gives our agency a unique vantage that we’re excited to share with our clients,” Spencer said speaking of her appointment.
Elly Hewitt, managing director at Alt/Shift, said: “Jules’ heritage in the PR and earned media space, coupled with extensive experience in some of the nation’s leading creative agencies is unique. She’s a bit of a unicorn – even though she might not like us calling her that – and we’re absolutely thrilled to have her in the team.”
This year has seen a series of agency’s appointing creative directors with 6AM Agency recruiting Nitin Mistry as its first ever executive creative director, and in October Bridget Jung joined Ogilvy as its ECD.
Earlier in the year, Edelman hired Jamil Bhatti as its creative director after Flourish PR appointed Phil Cebrano as its first full-time creative director.
One Green Bean was one of the first to kick off the trend, when founder Kat Thomas became the agency’s first ECD.
