Amazon’s Andrew Howie joins Taco Bell as CMO

American taco chain, Taco Bell, has selected Amazon’s Andrew Howie to take on the top marketing job for its Australian operations.

In an announcement made on LinkedIn, Howie shared that he was departing Amazon Australia after four years as head of brand and advertising for the online retail giant for a new challenge with the fast food brand.

“I’m excited to share that after 4 years at Amazon delighting customers and growing myself professionally, it’s time to jump onboard a new rocket ship,” said Howie.

“This is my first week at Taco Bell Australia. Growing this amazing brand and business is going to be an awesome journey. I certainly can’t wait.”

The news of the appointment was well received by industry peers, with dozens of congratulatory comments flowing in on the post.

Prior to Amazon, Howie has also held senior marketing roles at Westpac, as head of Westpac advertising, and Meat and Livestock Australia, as group marketing manager. He also has agency side experience, having held roles at Clemenger BBDO, Publicis Mojo and Host Sydney (now Host/Havas).
