Amnesia Razorfish set to become Publicis agency

Digital agency Amnesia Razorfish is set to become part of the Publicis family after the group agreed to buy the company from Microsoft.

Publicis agencies in Australia include Publicis Mojo, Saatchi & Saatchi, Zenith Optimedia, Leo Burnett and Starcom.

Razorfish will become part of Publicis’ VivaKi digital arm globally. VivaKi only recently launched its Digitas brand in Australia with former Carat boss Mandy Henry at the helm.

Lee Sherman, Razorfish’s president for Asia Pacific, told Mumbrella the deal is unlikely to be completed until the last quarter of the year. He said: “Razorfish will be operated as a stand-alone company within the VivaKi operating unit. We are extremely excited to join Publicis which is emerging as the global leader in digital, and look forward to continuing to perform transformational work for our clients.”

When asked about what that meant for the operation of Amnesia locally, he repeated: “Razorfish will be operated as a stand-alone company within the VivaKi operating unit.”

Sydney-based Amnesia was started more than ten years ago and employs about 70 people.
