Andy Lee joins Seven for The Front Bar

Andy Lee will be joining Seven’s AFL panel program, The Front Bar.

In recent years, Lee has been contracted to Nine, both as a team captain on Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation, and on shows alongside long-time radio and podcast partner Hamish Blake (including True Story and Perfect Holiday).

There is no word yet on Blake and Lee’s future television projects, but Blake is due to once again host Nine’s Lego Masters later in the year.

The Front Bar announced the news with a content piece featuring existing panel members Andy Maher, Mick Molloy and Sam Pang competing with other networks’ programs, such as Australian Survivor, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and Dancing With The Stars to secure celebrity talent.

Lee was number five in the ‘TV Show Draft’.

Lee, a big Carlton Football Club fan, was excited when presented with his first Front Bar flannel ahead of his debut.

”Management and I weighed up all of our available options and it certainly wasn’t just a money issue – it had a lot to do with a lifelong supply of beer which The Morning Show couldn’t match,’’ Lee said.

The AFL returns on 19 March with Richmond taking on Carlton.

Seven said The Front Bar is returning soon.

Andy Lee is speaking at Mumbrella’s upcoming Audioland conference on a panel with Osher Gunsberg and Meshel Laurie. They will be discussing The Power of Personality: Building an Audiobrand Audiences Love on 5 May at the Four Seasons in Sydney.
