Andy Segal and Chris Hince become ECDs at Hardhat

Hardhat has promoted both Andy Segal and Chris Hince to the position of executive creative director after three years at the agency. The pair will lead the creative offering for the independent agency, alongside existing ECD Reece Ryan, who fronts the experience and CX offering at Hardhat.

Promoted from creative directors, the pair joined Hardhat from GTB in 2019, previously working at JWT. During their time at the agency, they have worked on clients including Dare Iced Coffee, DocuSign, Willed, and Lilydale.

Issy Bonin, general manager at Hardhat said: “We’re delighted to see the dynamic duo that is Chris and Andy step into their much deserved roles as executive creative directors. The two have been an integral part in formulating Hardhat’s great work and culture over the years and we’re excited to see them take our creative work to new heights.”

Hince added: “Since joining Hardhat in 2019, we’ve seriously enjoyed working with this group of smart, passionate people. We’ve won new business, we’re making work we’re proud of, and now we’re up for the challenge to help lead and grow the agency.”

Segal also said: “Hardhat has that unique combination of bringing Brand and Experience together. With the team, we’re here to help grow that offering and bring it to more clients.”

The agency said the promotions “solidify its commitment to delivering best in class creative work, alongside its deep expertise and long history in CX”.

In June, the agency hired Ken Chan as head of strategy, joining from VMLY&R, a week later making a string of new director appointments and internal promotions.
