SOUTHERN CROSS AUSTEREO ANNOUNCES ANNALIESE VAN RIET AS CHIEF PEOPLE & CULTURE OFFICER

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) CEO, Grant Blackley, today announced the appointment Annaliese van Riet as Chief People & Culture Officer.

Van Riet has more than 15 years experience as a people, culture and human resources leader. Up until late last year, she was the General Manager People, Culture & Performance at APN Outdoor, working closely with CEO James Warburton, transforming its culture through a period of growth and subsequent acquisition by JCDecaux.

Most recently, van Riet has been consulting to DoorDash, the US-based food delivery giant, enabling its successful expansion into the Australian marketplace – its first footprint outside of North America. She has also held senior strategic HR positions at music tech platform Pandora and Fairfax Media, through periods of growth and contraction.

In her new role, van Riet will join the newly expanded leadership team at SCA, along with Nikki Clarkson who was last month promoted to Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, and the soon to be appointed Chief Content Officer.

“Annaliese has unrivalled experience in the media sector and has been instrumental in building talent, creating enviable cultures and overseeing a major acquisition. The breadth of experience that Annaliese brings to our business is valuable and we are delighted she is joining us,” Blackley said.

“In recognition of the importance of people to our business, and retaining and building upon our award-winning culture, Annaliese will also join the executive leadership team.”

Commenting on her new role, van Riet said: “I am delighted to be joining Grant and the executive leadership team at this exciting time for SCA as the media landscape continues to evolve and innovate. SCA holds a strong reputation, not only for employing a large and diverse workforce all across Australia, but also being an authentically, values-driven organisation with a culture of high performance and innovation.”

Van Riet’s role is effective from 20 January 2020.
