Another six Aussie agencies score noms in latest Cannes Lions shortlists

Overnight another installment of the Cannes Lions 2022 shortlists dropped, revealing the contenders for the Strategy and Experience categories.

A number of Australian campaigns received recognition, with many adding to a growing list of nominations.

Host\Havas’ six-part podcast series, ‘Crime Interrupted‘, for the Australian Federal Police (AFP) picked up another two nominations for Creative Strategy, in the Collaboration and Brand Strategy subcategories, adding to its nomination for Entertainment (Audio Content), which was awarded a Bronze Lion overnight.

A number of Australian agencies were recognised across the shortlists for the Experience categories, with Howatson + Company’s Silver and Bronze awarded ‘Rejected Ales’ campaign for Matilda Bay receiving a further two nominations for Brand Experience and Activation.

  • Rejected Ales: Howatson + Company for  Matilda Bay (Brand Experience & Activation: Retail Promotions & Competitions, Brand Experience & Activation: Customer Acquisition & Retention)
  • KFC Degustation: Ogilvy Australia for KFC (Brand Experience & Activation: Retail Promotions & Competitions, Brand Experience & Activation: Brand-owned Experiences)
  • Performance Enhancing Music: CHEP Network for Samsung (Brand Experience & Activation: Sponsorship & Brand Partnership)
  • The Ad Break Championship: GTI Hijack: DDB Sydney for Volkswagen (Brand Experience & Activation: Use of Mobile & Devices)
  • One House to Save Many: Leo Burnett Sydney for Suncorp Group (Creative Business Transformation: Brand Purpose & Impact, Creative Business Transformation: Product)
  • The Uncloseable Store: CHEP Network for Samsung (Creative Commerce: In-Store Experience)

CHEP Network also picked up a further two nominations after winning a Bronze Lion in Design for its ‘Coffee Scrub’ campaign for 7-Eleven. The Clemenger Group agency was shortlisted across two separate works created for its client Samsung.
