ANZ launches pampering day for women at Australian Open

ANZ is launching the ANZ Ladies Day during next week’s Australian Open, aimed at pampering the large female audience drawn annually to the grand slam event.

With women already making up around 58 per cent of people attending the Open, David Lindberg ANZ MD strategy and marketing, said it wanted to create for them a unique day filled with extra activities.

ANZ Ladies Day will take place on January 21 during the first week of the Australian Open.

Among the activities will be a competition to win tickets to the women’s final; the first 250 women through the gates will receive free ground passes to use later in the event; pamper pack giveaways; and a sunset BBQ on the deck of an ANZ-branded venue hosted by its ‘Be Money Confident’ ambassador, Antonia Kidman.

Also, for every ace served by a female player in all the matches on ANZ Ladies Day, $100 will be donated to Tennis Australia’s official charity, The Tennis Foundation, which supports programs for the development of women in tennis.

The banking group sponsors Australia’s highest ranked player, Sam Stosur who has also been appointed ANZ’s Australian Open ambassador.

“Over the past few years, ANZ has been committed to better understanding and catering to the banking needs of our female customers. Our focus has been on helping to address the financial issues and concerns of women across the community through such things as our partnership with Antonia Kidman and bemoneyconfident.com site,” Lindberg said.

ANZ is also the naming right sponsor of the ANZ Ladies Masters and netball’s ANZ Championship.

The latest initiative follows the launch earlier this week of a campaign targeted at women, following findings that 56 per cent of women do not save money on a regular basis.
