ANZ reviews its public relations account

Australian and New Zealand banking group (ANZ) is conducting a review of its public relations agency panel, Mumbrella can reveal.

A spokesperson from ANZ told Mumbrella: “We use a range of PR agencies, including Six O’Clock, for various parts of our business on an ongoing basis and have done so for many years. As with any external providers, we regularly review these arrangements to make sure they are appropriate for our needs.”

The roster includes incumbent agency Haystac and rostered agencies Eleven PR and Six O’Clock Advisory.

According to an ANZ spokesperson the review will take into consideration other agencies not currently on the roster and does not impact the media or creative arrangements.

Patrick O’Beirne, director at Six O’Clock Advisory, told Mumbrella: “While it’s not for us to discuss ANZ Marketing’s procurement of PR services, it’s fair to say our work with other parts of the business isn’t relevant in the context of the marketing panel review.”

Haystac’s client portfolio consists of Sushi Sushi, Melbourne Racing Club, Officeworks, Etsy, Goodyear Dunlop Tyres and Skyscanner Australia.

Eleven PR has worked with the bank in the past, picking up a Gold PR Spike in 2014 for its work on the ANZ GayTMs campaign.

After opening its Melbourne doors in January this year, Eleven PR Melbourne recently worked with ANZ on its Mardi Gras #holdtight campaign.

The review comes after Eleven PR Melbourne was appointed to Crown Casino and Resorts in February this year.

Other clients of Eleven PR include Tourism New Zealand, Gatorade, Krispy Kreme, SKYY Vodka, McDonald’s and Crown Casino.

Haystac and Eleven PR declined to comment.
