APG launches annual Planning Idol competition

The Account Planning Group of the Communications Council has launched its annual Planning Idol competition to find the next young planning talent.

The release:

The Account Planning Group’s biannual awards program for Australia’s young planning talent is on the hunt for the next APG Planning Idol.

Entrants have until Thursday 8th October to enter a written submission of 1,500 words in response to this year’s application brief. With a focus on generating ideas for good, APG has teamed up with Australia’s leading online youth mental health service, ReachOut.com, to deliver a brief which hopes to assist young people in the positive development of their mental health and that targets parents as a connecting channel.

Entrants who demonstrate clear understanding and original, strategic thinking will be shortlisted for the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of a panel of industry leaders prior to the awards ceremony in Sydney on 12th November 2015.

Jason Lonsdale, APG Chair and Executive Planning Director at Saatchi & Saatchi, said: “This is a unique opportunity for rising stars in planning to showcase their unexpected thinking and potential in front of a panel of senior planners from across the industry. Most of all, it’s a great forum for young planners to stretch and challenge their thinking outside of the agency. Good luck.”

The competition is open to both members and non-members and entrants must be aged 30 or under as of 1st October 2015.
