ARIA Charts: Guess who’s back, back again (Clue: It’s Eminem)

Eminem has soared to the top of the Australian Singles chart for the first time in over a decade, with his reference-filled Houdini clip helping pilot his new single to the top spot.

This marks the rapper’s ninth #1 single in Australia, following Stan in 2000, Without Me in 2002, Lose Yourself in 2002, Just Lose It in 2004, When I’m Gone in 2005, We Made You in 2009, Love The Way You Lie in 2010, and The Monster in 2013.

As a result of this new music, his best-of collection has jumped back into the top reaches of the ARIA Albums chart, sitting at #15, and having sold 12xPlatinum – which equates to at least 840,000 album sales under the old rules.

Last week’s #1, Million Dollar Baby by Tommy Richman, has fallen to #4, while last week’s #3, I Had Some Help by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen has shuffled back up to #2.

Central Cee and Lil Baby has jumped into the top ten, moving from #17 to #9 with BAND4BAND, while the rest of the chart is incredibly static, with no new entries aside from the #1 spot.

On the Albums chart, Billie Eilish has recaptured the top spot after being knocked off last week by Twenty One Pilots’ new album Clancy, which has fallen to #30 in its second week on the chart.

Crowded House debuted at #3 with their eighth studio album Gravity Stairs — and tenth top five album overall, including two best-ofs — while Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department moves from #3 to #2 in its seventh week on the chart.

The other big debut, album-wise, was Casey Barnes at #11 with Mayday, while Olivia Rodrigo’s two albums have remained in the top ten. Lower down, five Taylor Swift albums occupy the top spots between 11 and 20.
