ARIA Charts: Shady’s back at #1 (tell a friend)
Eminem has landed his 11th #1 album in Australia with The Death Of Slim Shady, while 11 of the album’s songs have hit the Top 50 Singles chart – including a 42-second track.
Eminem’s first Australian #1 was in 2000 with The Marshall Mathers LP, while his longest-running #1 was 2010’s Recovery, which was #1 in the country for nine weeks.
As ARIA noted, this latest chart-topper means Eminem has the equal-fifth most #1 albums, tied with U2, and only trailing Madonna with 12, Taylor Swift’s 13, The Beatles with 14, and Jimmy Barnes’ 15.
We could get technical and add Barnesy Cold Chisel chart-toppers — or deduct the double-up Taylor’s Versions — but that’s getting into the weeds.
Elsewhere on this week’s chart, Clairo’s Charm also debuted strongly at #4, with Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift occupying the two places between.
Sydney hardcore band Speed debuted at #10 with their album Only One Mode, while Griff, Complete, Cigarettes After Sex, and In Hearts Wake also landed top 50 debuts this week.
All in all, it was a strong week for new music. Tell a friend.

Over in Singles land, Eminem occupies over a fifth of the Top 50 with various album tracks and singles from his new album, while Shaboozey holds the #1 spot for a second-straight week, keeping Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso at #2.
The highest non-Eminem debut comes way down at #47, from Ice Spice and Central Cee, with Did It First.
