ARN launches Living Room Concert Series

Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) brands Kiis FM, The Edge 96.1 and iHeartRadio Australia have partnered with Sony Music to put together a series of virtual acoustic concerts featuring major Australian artists.

iHeartRadio’s local content director Brett Nossiter noted that despite various levels of government easing COVID-19-related restrictions, it will still be some time before the live music industry is back to its usual levels of operation.

“Although COVID-190 restrictions are set to ease over the coming weeks and months, it’s still unlikely that we’ll have large-scale music events for some time,” he said. “So we’ve created an opportunity for our audience to enjoy live music experiences from some of Australia’s biggest music stars, direct from their living room. We’re looking forward to sharing some surprises too, as many of the artists will be performing brand new music for their fans.”

Artists involved in the project include Guy Sebastian, Amy Shark, Darryl Braithwaite and Samantha Jade.

Consumers can listen live through the iHeartRadio app, or via ARN’s radio stations. The live concerts will also be available to watch online, and available for catch-up for 30 days.

Rival radio network Nova Entertainment, responsible for the Nova and Smooth brands, recently announced a virtual concert for essential workers. The co-branded Nova and Smooth event will take place on Saturday, however consumers need to win their way in.
